How migrants stay in touch.

'Most migrants yearn to maintain contact with their families, friends and homelands. But how they do so depends on the changing technologies at their disposal...'

Lovely piece on Migrant Voice.

Fresh Off the Boat.

We spent a pleasant afternoon at the Hen and Chickens Theatre in Islington, seeing 'Fresh off the Boat', two plays about immigration - reviewed here :

'A Border Story is an autobiographical account of the tribulations suffered by the American writer, Sarah Pitard, when trying to obtain a visa to remain in the UK. Her character Amy’s bafflement at the hoops she has to jump through and frustration at the implacable illogicality of the Powers That Be will strike a chord with many. '
