Ballad of Steve and Melissa

Shared here. Another detention : http://britcits.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/another-detention-original-piece-on.html

We got married in Gibraltar and Melissa became my wife,
But returning to the UK caused one hell of a strife,
For the powers that be detained her, no they would not let her in,
It seems that being an American is now some kind of sin,
If you happen to fall in love with a British green-bearded guy,
Especially if you are suspected of being a Chinese spy.

So my wife and I were parted on the first day after we wed,
And we cannot see each other and we cannot share a bed,
Just like John and Yoko in their ballad, in their song,
Seems like the world's against us but we haven't done anything wrong.
We only want to be together so we tied the knot near Spain,
But looks like love and wedding vows today are all in vain.

So I miss Melissa and we'll have no honeymoon,
Until this mess gets sorted out and I hope it's very soon,
For transatlantic love is very hard today,
With New World Order police state officers getting right in the way,
So I will share our story and I will tell the press,
When you're not allowed to be with the one you love,
It shows this world is in an insane mess.
