Movement Against Xenophobia

Along with South London Immigration Monitor, Black Activists Rising Against Cuts, the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, Migrants Rights Network, Migrant Voice, and others, BritCits is very proud to support the Movement Against Xenophobia (MAX - what an awesome name for a campaign).

The last year or more has seen attacks on the rights of migrants and migrant communities - vans travelling around London bearing the notorious 'Go home' slogan, attacks on legal aid, attacks on the right to health care (which must also constitute a public health issue where access to health care is denied), attacks on the right to housing.

And of course, attacks on the right to family life - not just for migrants, but for British citizens who dare to fall in love with foreigners, have children with them, or have non-EEA elderly dependants. You can read some 181 of these stories here : http://britcits.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/stories

MAX is a new coalition coming together to oppose the scapegoating of migrants, and therefore to protect the rights of all.
