Thought for the day
Even though large tracts of Britain and many old and famous Counties have fallen or may fall into the grip of the UKBA and all the odious apparatus of May's rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Britain, we shall fight in the forums and on facebook, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in cyberspace, we shall defend our spouses, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the radio, we shall fight on the television stations, we shall fight in the blogs and in the newspapers, we shall fight in the demos; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our network beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the ones we love, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

“The UKBA is happy to take visa application fees, and then find spurious reasons to reject visa applications, in order to take yet more fees... .”

Cyprus eurozone bailout prompts anger as savers hand over possible 10% levy.
Angry Cypriots try in vain to withdraw savings as eurozone bailout terms break taboo of hitting bank depositors.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/mar/16/cyprus-eurozone-bailout-anger
This is robbery and we must get the EU to stop this. We retire and bring our savings to a bank in Cyprus and they can just take our money away without permission and then say we have shares in a bankrupt bank.

Interesting exchange with https://twitter.com/LifeInTheUK2013 !
https://twitter.com/BritCits : A History lesson: #immigration into UK goes back to 55 B.C. We are a nation built on immigrants and their hard graft. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_immigration_to_Great_Britain
https://twitter.com/sjplep : Much earlier than 55 BC! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaker_culture#Migration_vs._acculturation
https://twitter.com/LifeInTheUK2013 : @sjplep @BritCits earlier than Beaker folk too. We all came out of Africa. On a day like this many of us probably wish we were still there!
https://twitter.com/sjplep : @LifeInTheUK2013 @BritCits True! BTW the helmet pictured on p.18 of LiUK is not the Sutton Hoo helmet - it's the Vendel helmet!
